Salvatore Ferragamo Spring 2009
Salvatore Ferragamo Spring 2009

MILAN, Sep 24, 2008 / FW/ — With a definite 1980s flair, Cristina Ortiz’s Spring 2009 collection for Salvatore Ferragamo is a statement of volume and grandiose cuts.

Keeping the proportions correct, everything is exaggerated. Thus, the halter neck what looked like a halter neck dress is actually a two-piece ensemble, a Capri-length cigarette pants and a triangular tent dress, the halter neck held by buckles.

The buckle theme will continue in the whole collection. Used in sets (there was never just one), they were used in belts (an obvious place to look), as closures for the coats, decoration on oversized collars or literally hold a top with sheered collar.

White and gray as the main color palette, the green turned golden as a metallic shade. Interspersed with red, coral and fuchsia, the collection was very strong in its color statement.
