PARIS, Oct 1, 2008 / FW/ — Scarlet heart-shaped lips that is reminiscent of 1940s and 1950s Hollywood sirens, An Vandevorst and Filip Arickx might have been inspired by the silver screen femme fatales except that the clothes have a youthful punk rock energy.
Transparent fabric used on a simple sleeveless sheered mini dress that was folded at the hemline for volume was paired with hose held by a garter belt. It’s like a young girl playing dress up but she has not left the playground yet.
What followed was a sportive collection that surprisingly enough would fit very well in the ‘Gossip Girl’ age group. It might be a little bit more sophisticated for the hallway fashionistas, but it could still work. One thing though, it’s perfect for the college coeds whether they are on the Ivy League or the more democratic Stanford. In fact, the collection will fit the current remake of 90210!
There are a lot to choose from beginning with the with trench coat with wide lapels, to the wide legged black pants paired with a white shirt with oversized sleeves. The accessory of choice – the obi-inspired cummerbund that goes with everything from uniting separates to cinching the waist of a tunic.
