LOS ANGELES, Nov 29, 2008 / FW/ — At the Cadillac Records premiere last Nov 25, Beyoncé Knowles was seen wearing Dolce & Gabbana and customized metallic tartan Minx on her nails to match her outfit.
Opening in theaters on December 5, ‘Cadillac Records’ tells the real life stories of the exciting but turbulent lives of some of America’s musical legends, including Muddy Waters, Leonard Chess, Little Walter, Howlin’ Wolf, Etta James and Chuck Berry in 1950s Chicago.
Commenting on the film, Knowles, who is Executive Producer and also stars as Etta James said, “Their stories are so important and need to be told, because it would be no Beyoncé or any of us out right now.”
“They were the first African Americans to cross over on the radio before Motown and it’s something that I didn’t know. I didn’t know that rock ‘n’ roll came from Chess Records. And I didn’t know that the Rolling Stones and the Beatles and all these people copied their music. And it’s great for them to finally get their due,” added Beyoncé.
