MILAN, Nov 17, 2008 / FW/ — After the successful unveiling of his Spring 2009 collection last September, Milanese designer Gabriele Colangelo announced that he had assigned the production and distribution of his prêt-à-porter collection to Castor Srl for nine years.

Known for its support and development young design talents, Castor Srl was founded in 2003 by sisters Angela and Elena Picozzi with Francesca Agosta. Starting the Fall 2009 / Winter 2010 season, the Mantova -based company will take care of the production and distribution of the Women’s collection of Gabriele Colangelo.

According to the agreement, Castor will take care of the production line of Gabriele Colangelo’s collections in all its phases: from the realization of prototypes to the preparation of samples, catwalk items and the full collection.

Distribution will occur at a worldwide level, thanks to the consolidated and far-reaching network linking the Mantova company with the most qualified and influential operators in each of the five continents.

The set for the presentation of the new liaison will be the AltaRoma catwalk shows, at the end of January 2009, during which Gabriele Colangelo will present a capsule collection with a number of looks realized by Castor, alongside fur items produced by Colangelo Milano.

“Support from a company such as Castor, with its significant production resources and its solidity in distribution is a crucial assurance for me to express my creativity at best,” commented Gabriele Colangelo.

Backed by collaborations with the most prestigious fashion houses – among which Chanel, Valentino and Aquascutum – in 2005 Castor Srl created the 6267 brand, starting a relationship with designers Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi, which was to last until 2008 with the creation of a network of over 250 points of sale offering the label itself around the world. Castor also takes care of the production and distribution of the Mantù Daywear Luxury women’s collection.
