NEW YORK, Dec 10, 2008 / FW/ — A minimalist silhouette that is almost austere, Francisco Costa’s vision for Fall is elegant in its asceticism, which touches the current zeitgeist of sobriety yet hopeful for a brighter future.

The Calvin Klein label has always been able to put its finger on the pulse of the contemporary generation. Francisco Costa continues that tradition while adding his own sensitivity. His proposal for Pre-Fall 2009 of understated luxury as shown in the double-breasted woolen silk coat in black to the white deep V-neck patchwork velvety silk gown will sit very well even inside the Washington beltway all the way to the White House.

Still, the beauty of this 25-piece collection is that it will blend nicely into the four corners of the globe and also in the future. As sci-fi enthusiasts will say – breaking the boundaries of space and time.

The collection is of course very far from being sci-fi. Yet, the futuristic qualities of the collection are easily discernible in the white double-faced velvet evening coat and the vineyard wet velvet pleated dress. But, it is still firmly planted on terra firma, thus making it highly covetable and desirable for the very fashion forward set.

In fact, the Hollywood A-list is already making a beeline for it. Rose Byrne, co-star of the Emmy-Award winning series ‘Damages’ attended the show all dressed in Calvin Klein, of course.
