DALLAS, Dec 12, 2008 / FW/ — There is no need to repeat the grim economic news that is beleaguering the entire world. It’s time to look at the silver lining behind the cloud and the Fall 2009 season is arguably the best time to peek. The final collection for the first decade of the 21st century, Fall 2009 might as well be the time when we will see the new silhouettes we have been waiting for.

Quoting another old saying, ‘necessity is the mother of invention’, this decade has provided designers a lot of ‘necessities.’ First, the turn of the century is asking for a new silhouette. Second, the worldwide concern for the environment is slowly changing the way we treat our planet and finally, the economic crisis is forcing everyone to think of more efficient ways to produce goods and provide services.

Always on the cutting edge of design, Milan fashion houses are always ready to face these challenges, and again, to use an old adage, Milan-based designers can turn lemons into lemonade.
