LOS ANGELES, Jan 29, 2009 / FW/ — Have you ever wonder what happens to the clothes you give to charity? If you donate it to St Vincent de Paul Society’s Help Desk, the clothes are transformed into wearable works of art and exquisite home décor.

A charitable organization that helps the working poor and the homeless, St. Vincent de Paul Society’s Help Desk provides free clothing, food supplies and small household items to approximately 14,500 people a year. The ‘Discarded to Divine’ Auction and Fashion Show is a yearly fundraising event wherein 100% of the proceeds benefit the St. Vincent de Paul Society’s Help Desk.

Now on its fourth year, the 2009 Discarded to Divine Auction and Fashion Show is scheduled on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Live! @ 888 Brannan (formerly the Giftcenter Pavilion). This year, Barbara Beccio, Cari Borja, Michael Boris, Miranda Caroligne, Eimaj Design, The Flow Room, Lynne Gallagher of Wee Scotty, gr.dano, Louisa Parris, and Sweet P from Project Runway have generously lent their talent to help this charitable cause.
