NEW YORK, Jan 13, 2009 / FW/ — After a successful collaboration with Paris’ hip store Colette, Gap is now partnering with color authority Pantone to create limited-edition vibrantly-hued t-shirts to be sold exclusively at Gap’s pop-up store at the retailer’s flagship store at 54th Street and 5th Avenue in New York.
The Gap & Pantone T-Shop Pop Up store is open from Friday, Jan 9 through Sunday, Feb 8, 2009 offering a full palette of Gap tees from the label’s upcoming spring collection in true Pantone colors, including a limited-edition tee in Mimosa, Pantone’s color of the year for 2009. This t-shirt will only be available at the Gap & Pantone T-shop.
Alongside Gap men’s crewneck [$18] and women’s v-neck [$18.50] t-shirts, the shop will feature a display of PANTONE UNIVERSE(TM) items, including a collection of color-themed stationery, office supplies, books and accessories. Items can be purchased at http://www.pantone.com/ .
Pantone is the global authority on color and provides professional color standards for the design industries. Each year, Pantone selects a “color of the year.” 2009’s color is PANTONE 14-0848 Mimosa, a warm, engaging yellow that Gap will spotlight with exclusive Mimosa tees available for purchase at the Gap & Pantone T-Shop.
The Mimosa tee is available in limited quantities as a men’s crewneck [$18] and women’s v-neck [$18.50]. Mimosa is also one of the 3,000 colors available in Pantone’s line of superior-quality, eco-friendly paint.
