Alexandre Herchcovitch Fall 2009

NEW YORK, Feb 26, 2009 / FW/ — With Kanye West sitting front row, Alexandre Herchcovitch unveiled his Fall 2009 collection that looks and feel high concept but so wearable and highly covetable that the audience just you can actually hear the audience say oohhhhhh and aahhhhh.

It began with sequined leggings and a floral shift dress that reminds you of the Great Barrier Reef; but before you could say mermaid, the beat changed as the Brazilian designer sent out black walking shorts and a short cropped blouse with Peter Pan collar and voila, you get high fashion club kid.

With beads and sequins as the elements that bound the whole collection together, one might assume that the looks are cheesy. Actually, it is very far from being cheesy; there is an elegant edginess in it, a quality that is very hard to achieve, which by the way, Alexandre Herchcovitch accomplished with aplomb.
