NEW YORK, Feb 21, 2009 / FW/ — For Gossip Girl’s upcoming episode “At the End of the J”, airing March 30, 2009, Taylor Momsen as Jenny, Feldman as Poppy and Blake Lively as Serena will be seen shopping at the Missoni Boutique in Madison Avenue.
The girls are filmed shopping at Missoni for a dress; with Taylor trying on options and wearing her selection later in the episode.
Known for its iconic knitwear, Missoni under the creative helm of Angela Missoni, daughter of the maison’s founders Ottavio & Rosita, is staging its own revival.
Founded in 1953, the label’s original offering of knitwear that had been inspired by nature, art and architecture changed the identity of knitwear forever.
Missoni’s continued popularity for the past 50 years can be attributed for the maison’s fearless challenges to the status quo, thus it was not surprising that Missoni decided to challenge its own status quo after the label’s 50th anniversary.
The result – exciting prints and innovative knitwear, even new fabric being introduced into the mix.
Hence, Missoni being seen at Gossip Girl is inevitable. It is no longer your parents’ Missoni. Thanks to Angela Missoni’s visionary approach, it is also the digital generation’s Missoni.
Now, the question is, what did Taylor Momsen as Jenny buy? A good guess will be something from the current Spring 2009 collection.
