Max Azria Fall 2009
Max Azria Fall 2009

NEW YORK, Feb 19, 2009 / FW/ — Max Azria was practical yet pretty this season. This collection was made for the woman who needs to beat the cold, but in a fashionable way.

As looks entered the runway, the show was stiff and rigid like an artic winter. Black lace on skirts mixed with ultra suede leggings made major statements. The long leather gloves that ran off beyond the bicep are the major accessory for the collection. Max Azria does black like non-other. The construction of the waist coats and black leather vest were forgiving yet provocative with their body conscious synching.

While enjoying the mild energy of the collection, the makeup was drama induced at the eyelid showing splashes of colour. It matched the feminine lines he created with double and tripled tiered ruffles that adorned jackets and shirts. As the gowns and dresses came down, more colour was introduced by way of modest nudes, creams and muted mustard. These chiffons, crepes and georgette dresses were toned down by the use of leggings and boots. Many of the looks could be separated and made into multiple outfits, if a customer saw fit.

So practical how the style team paired cat suits with lace gowns and mohair sweater dresses with black coated jeans. The weightless volume of the collection stays true to the Azria brand. This rough yet refined collection is nothing less than a marvel
