Moschino Cheap & Chic Fall 2009

MILAN, Feb 27, 2009 / FW/ — Ruffles here, ruffles there, ruffles everywhere… Rosella Jardini at Moschino Cheap & Chic was having fun with ruffles; so much fun that ruffles became the statement of the collection overshadowing the more interesting and politically provocative ‘unbuckled’ belt.

First, the ruffles – as a collar, as the layers for a short coat, as a huge bow, and as the shirt cuff. Amidst all these, this by the way got almost lost but it was such a strong statement that we noticed – a molded leather belt hugging the model’s waist.

And bravely, I will say that this collection is truly more about the accessories than the clothes. The platform shoes that could pass for a sandal or a pump or even both, also caught our eyes.

One this is for sure though. Even amidst all the doom and gloom that has been hovering around the financial market, the Moschino Cheap & Chic collection and show was upbeat as always.
