LOS ANGELES, Feb 23, 2009 / FW/ — The televised portion of the Academy Awards is just what the public sees; but Oscars Week in Hollywood means parties, parties and more parties.
In a business where being seen in the most important scenes is first and foremost, being seen on the red carpet at the Kodak Theater is just part of the equation. The other part is being seen at the parties because in Hollywood, deals are not just made in golf courses or at the country clubs. Networking is done mostly at the parties, where power players abound.
So, who did we spot? At the Vanity Fair party, Rose Byrne, Abbie Cornish, Ryan Phillippe, Gabriel Aubrey, Natalia Vodianova, and, Aerin Lauder Zinterhofer all attended wardrobed by Calvin Klein.
And, at the Academy Awards itself, we saw Michael Shannon, nominated for Actor in a Supporting Role for his performance in “Revolutionary Road;” Richard Jenkins, nominated for Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in “The Visitor;” and, Cuba Gooding, Jr., for his appearance as a presenter, all of them also wardrobed by Calvin Klein.
