Terexov Fall 2009
Terexov Fall 2009

NEW YORK, Feb 21, 2009 / FW/ — ‘When in doubt, go for the classics,’ is an adage women follow when they are unsure on how to dress for the occasion. In the current economic climate, this rule of thumb takes a more significant meaning as women balance chic with basic needs.

Perhaps, with the Russian nouveau riche as one of the hardest hit with the global credit crunch, Russian designer Alexander Terekhov has taken the ‘when in doubt, go for the classics’ adage to heart. Sending shift dresses and separates in black & white, almost every piece in the collection is timeless.

Now, many believe that ‘classic’ equates to ‘boring’, but Terexov’s treatment is upbeat, even fun. Using geometric prints on chiffon, it is like watching one whole city move as the fabric billowed while the model walked.

Still, the more important aspect of this collection is that it is a complete wardrobe – day to night, work then play, conservative and daring.
