NEW YORK, Feb 23, 2009 / FW/ — Tonight in London, the highly anticipated world premiere of ‘Watchmen’ the movie attracted a huge crowd at the Odeon West End at Leicester Square. With the whole cast present – Malin Akerman, Billy Crudup, Matthew Goode, Carla Gugino, Jackie Earle Haley, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Patrick Wilson, fans of the comic book that was said that it could not be translated into film cheered as the actors who played their favorite characters walked the red carpet.
Patrick Wilson, Billy Crudup, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, all of whom were wardrobed by Calvin Klein signed autographs and so did the rest of the cast.
Due to a courtroom drama, Watchmen, the movie had to wait until everything is settled before it could be released. After a long wait, it will finally hit theaters March 6. A direct take off from the comic book, the story is set in an alternate 1985 where superheroes exist, Richard Nixon is still president, and tensions between the United States and the Soviet Union are at an all-time high.
The vigilante Rorschach is investigating the murder of a former hero, the Comedian, and uncovers a plot to discredit and murder various heroes. Rorschach discovers a far wider-ranging conspiracy involving his colleagues’ past which could completely change the course of history.
