PARIS, Mar 5, 2009 / FW/ — Following the footsteps of fellow fashion designers Vivienne Westwood and Donatella Versace, Angela Missoni will receive the Women’s World Awards for Fashion which is given to the woman who has most influenced fashion in recent years by having taken decisions that have provoked changed.

For Angela Missoni, the award is also bestowed on the vitality and longevity of the Missoni brand’s success worldwide.

The Women’s World Awards honors twelve different categories of women who, thanks to their extraordinary achievements, have become models, heroines of society. Among this year’s winners are Elle MacPherson, Anastacia, Monica Bellucci, Kelly Clarkson, Claudia Cardinale, Marianne Faithfull and the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Betty Williams.

Held in Vienna for the first time after being held in Hamburg, Leipzig and New York, the fourth Women’s World Awards is happening tonight in the Austrian city. The state-of-the-art Stadthalle F in Vienna will be the venue for the glittering gala. The after-show event will be held at the monumental Vienna City Hall, seat of the mayor and the municipal administration.
