DUBAI, UAE, Mar 29, 2009 / FW/ — It was a magical evening last March 26, 2009, when Cartier muse and actress Monica Belluci escorted by Mr. Bernard Fornas, President and CEO of Cartier International attended the inauguration of the Cartier flagship boutique at Dubai.

Measuring more than 700 square meters, this retail location is ranked among the top 5 largest flagship boutiques in the world.

It was an evening of glamour, sophistication and elegance… Guests were invited to a champagne and petits fours reception at the Cartier boutique and admired unique pieces on display that were made especially for this occasion.

Present were Mr. Bernard Fornas, President and CEO of Cartier International, and Mr. Patrick Normand, Managing Director of Cartier Middle East & South Asia.

Following the inauguration ceremony, guests were welcomed for dinner, where the Dubai Mall atrium was transformed into a magical spectacle, taking guests on a journey into the legendary world of Cartier.

Amongst the invitees were the famous actress and Cartier muse, Monica Bellucci, Bollywood actor & Slumdog Millionaire star Anil Kapoor and Bollywood actress and model Karishma Kapoor; and many other VIPs from around the world and Dubai.

With a wave of her magical wand, Monica brought to life Cartier’s red box theatres, which were especially brought for this occasion – China, Russia, India, Africa and Opera these theatrical performances gave the invitees a tour into the magic which is hidden in the iconic Cartier red box, a symbol of desire, mystery and dreams.

As a tribute to the House’s longstanding relationship with the region, Cartier has created a special Santos 100 watch with the Arabian Horse enameled motif, a limited edition of 20 pieces, sold exclusively at this largest boutique in the Middle East.

This unique watch dedicated to Arabia is a symbol of pride, courage and confidence, and represents true know-how, keeping with Cartier watch-making and jewellery tradition.
