Roberto Cavalli Fall 2009
Roberto Cavalli Fall 2009

MILAN, Mar 4, 2009 / FW/ — If there is a designer who will be the last one that I would attribute a medieval theme, it will be Roberto Cavalli who is known for his luxe and hedonistic looks. Yet, for Fall 2009, there is a definitive medieval knight aura in his asymmetrical minis riveted with silver studs or made from metal mesh, almost entirely in black.

Leggings all in black or cigarette pants in black with silver studs are proposed to be worn with leather opera gloves also decorated with silver studs. Or should we call them gauntlets instead of gloves because there is that Knights Templar theme going.

Of course, the ubiquitous 1980s influence is also present; but I like the idea of Roberto Cavalli’s dark romantic side.
