Tsumori Chisato Fall 2009
Tsumori Chisato Fall 2009

PARIS, Mar 9, 2009 / FW/ — Collaborating with Japanese cosmetics brand shu uemura for the Holiday 2009 season for a limited edition make-up collection, Tsumori Chisato merged her playful style with shu uemera’s contemporary edge to create soft and feminine pieces that are whimsical and fanciful.

Poncho dresses with asymmetrical hemlines sheered at the neck and cut in just one piece are paired with leggings that also feature original prints by Tsumori Chisato. The sheered neckline is also seen in the cocktail dresses with layered skirts and mutton sleeves. Yet, the more interesting take is on the accordion pleats page boy pants that is rolled at the hem and given a high waist.

Chisato also merged the European medieval knights with the Japanese medieval warriors as she referenced both in the trousers – ruche cigarette pants, the low crotch generously cut trousers and the conquistador shorts that is gathered just above the knee morphing to leg hugging tights.
