PARIS, Apr 5, 2009 / FW/ — Bring the raw character of denim to its full potential, the G-Star Spring / Summer 2009 collection focuses on the contrast between vintage washes and raw denim.
Great attention and care has been paid to the ’repaired’ washes for vintage aesthetic. Light colors in crushed blue, grey and black compliment G-Star’s dark Raw Denim collection.
This collection also introduces lightweight summer fabrics with its light 7 oz. Soil Denim. Conversely, G-Star continues to offer fabrics till 12.5 oz in new colors for the last moments of winter while complimenting its authentic denim program.
Known for its innovative approach to product construction, the Arc Pant underlines G-Star’s passion for three dimensional denim silhouettes.
The revolutionary look took a year of fine-tuning as the Arc Pant is entirely constructed via detailed paper patterns without special fabric cuts, underlining G-Star’s architectural craftsmanship.
The result is a low and baggy style with a pant that “turns” around the legs, thanks to twisted side seams and inseams. The Arc Pant is available for both men and women in a variety of washes.
Other new denim styles include the Night Pant and the Blade Pant, two promising new looks for men, while the Town Legging, Royce Skinny and Town Q for women are destined to become seasonal highlights.
Spring/Summer ‘09 also marks the introduction of a new edition within the classic Elwood series. The Scuba Elwood for men is inspired by nautical engineer uniforms, while women are offered the Storm Elwood with a “boyfriend fit” silhouette in elegant washes, as for example the Slide Wash.
From November onwards, G-Star offers high quality Raw Listing jeans pant styles in three washes –all with red or white selvages. G-Star’s selvage denim pants are developed in accordance to Japanese looming techniques and embody the brand’s ongoing quest for quality and innovation.
As selvage denim ages over the years, the natural irregularities of raw cotton embellish and transform the pant into a truly unique and favorite pair of jeans. All Raw Listing jeans are wrapped and packaged in a special Raw Listing fabric satchel.
