BARCELONA, Apr 16, 2009 / FW/ — Projecte Bressol is part of the Plan to Promote Fashion 2007-2010, supported by Catalona’s Ministry of Innovation, Universities and Enterprise, through the Secretariatfor Trade and Tourism. This is an initiative intended to prepare new designers for the business world.

Projecte Bressol offers an integrated support platform for emerging designers and is the first “business nursery” for fashion and design in Spain. Young designers will be given advice and training for three years in three areas: training and advice, space and resources, and networking.

Among the designers who had benefited from Projecte Bressol is Barcelona native Immaculada Vallverdú. Born on August 25th, 1981, she studied Fine Arts at the Universidad de Barcelona and specialized in illustration.

She got her degree in 2004, then, her first step into fashion was when she studied fashion design at the Felicidad Duce design and fashion school. She complemented it with a specialization course in hat making at the Massana school in Barcelona.

Her first work experience was as an illustration and painting teacher at the García Cross studio. Being faithful to her artistic vocation, she exhibited her drawings on July 2005 in Girona.

Passionate for design, and also being familiar with graphic arts, she developed her career in the graphic design sector, working as freelance for several clients.

At the same time, she managed to work on her own fashion collection, which she presented at several contests. All this work would have its profit: she was selected to be part of Projecte Bressol from Generalitat de Catalunya.
