DALLAS, Apr 27, 2009 / FW/ — A hint of masculinity in an oversized shirt creates in contrast with a feminine figure. Androgynous traits have a very sensual appeal because it is effortless and sexy. It’s like wearing your boyfriend’s clothes only with a sophisticated twist for the new season: the baggy extra-large T-shirts, his button ups and ties were modulated into oversized sweaters and jackets for fall.

I am in agreement with Giorgio Armani’s insight: “Androgynous today means that men and women have the same attitude towards what they want to wear, … It’s not unisex dressing, but more the idea that you can see a jacket on a woman in this show, which you can just as easily see on a man.”

As seen in Adam, Alexandre Herchcovitch, Lacoste, Tracy Reese, and Walter: Super long cardigans and blazers graze the bottom of short shorts or minis for a sensual appeal. For work, dress up the trend with a silk blouse or metallic trousers as seen in Thuy’s collection.

Complete this look with knee highs and tousled hair. Or maybe draped trousers and oxford pumps depending on how masculine or girly you are feeling. Which side do you want to lean towards when wearing this trend? Just make sure you have a balance of both so that you don’t come out looking too much like your boyfriend.
