MILAN, May 2, 2009 / FW/ — With strong reference to Saville Row tailoring, Henry Cotton’s Summer 2009 collection is about elegance with pin stripes and plaid.
For women, equestrian-inspired, the classic men’s formal apparel had been declined with an unexpected variation with pink pinstripes on a dark blue two-button blazer.
Four pockets, one with embroidered logo and HC golden buttons give a touch of personality to this variation of the jacket. Elegant in its simplicity (€ 389).
Look for the most sought after short redingote mixed linen and cotton with a double-breasted and asymmetrical rendition, made in the classic blue pinstriped cream (€ 328). The vest is closed by a double row of buttons and profiled in cream along the lapel (€ 199).
For men, plaid makes a strong comeback, an apparent contrast to the very classic form that was seen in the women’s collection.
With green, red and blue lines, it is a fresh and original take on plaid that were used to create a jacket with three patch pockets and sewn to finish hand (€ 309), waistcoats (€ 139) and straight leg pants by cutting tailoring (€ 120).
And for the sportive gentleman, Henry Cotton’s created a plaid matrix with a base of pink salmon which intertwined with white and blue stripes (€ 198). Unfailing appeal to the English spirit, the “Union Jack” embroidered on the lapel of the jacket. Same imagination and tone for the in the Bermudas shorts and flax belt with a contrast (€ 149).
For both color variants, the inevitable belt coordinated with the British flag embroidered next to the buckle (68 €).
