PARIS, May 22, 2009 / FW/ — With leggings as the season must-have for Fall 2009 / Winter 2010, Jitrois is in its element and designer Jean-Claude Jitrois has elected to pay on the contrasts between romanticism and realism to create a highly desirable and highly covetable collection.
Juxtaposing simplicity and opulence in his stretch leather, silk and fur, Jean-Claude Jitrois created new timeless pieces that present basics in luxury fabrics and sexy cuts. A statement in refined luxury and expressive eloquence, the Jitrois Fall 2009 collection is chic and seductive.
Proposing little beige fleeced sheepskin perfecto, which combines curved lines with a straight cut, there is also washed lambskin jacket whose shape is completely defined with fine bands of precise rib trim to ensure a perfectly fitted silhouette right to the cuffs.
This season, leggings – from now on a must-have – are militarized with pockets and heavy-stitch zips.
The lines of the jackets and coats are exact and refined. Straight and diagonal lines are emphasized by organic details such as flower-bud collars, corolla hoods, seahorse-style corseted belts in pleated leather or fern collars in full bloom: open or done up, in fur or in obeisance.
Layered materials, shapes and a play on volumes are to be thanked for the designer’s perception of tomorrow’s basics: a down jacket made using leather and glazed fabric; a ‘three hole’ dress with straight lines finished with copious fox fur; silk tops drape themselves dreamily over the leather waist; a new raw hide corset belt regulates an outsize black fox jacket or a stretch leather bodice…
In addition to much-used black and white, less radical & more natural colours penetrate this new collection: chestnuts, browns, grey-blacks and hints of more iridescent tones such as coral orange or deep blue.
The Jitrois woman plays and models her outfits to her own style, adding or removing elements according to her mood: detachable furs, patent corsets, gloves, silver fox scarf…
