LOS ANGELES, Jun 25, 2009 / FW/ — Today is a very sad day for the entertainment industry. Two of their brightest stars passed away, Farah Fawcett at 62 and Michael Jackson at 50.

Farrah Fawcett, the ‘Charlie’s Angels’ whose feathered blonde hair and dazzling smile redefined the term ‘sex symbol’ for a whole generation died Thursday at 9:30 AM in a Santa Monica, California hospital.

As tributes for her courage in her battle against anal cancer come in, accessories designer Lana Marks remembers Farrah Fawcett a much loved friend.

Ms. Marks, who retained a close friendship with Farrah over many years said, “Farrah was a much loved friend, a dazzling beauty both inside and outside. I will cherish our time spend together and will miss her.”

And while the whole world was still getting over the shock of Farrah Fawcett’s death, pop star Michael Jackson of the ‘Thriller’ and moonwalk dance fame, was being rushed to the UCLA Medical Center by the Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics, reported the Los Angeles Times.

An hour later, the L.A. Times reported that Michael Jackson was pronounced dead by doctors with cardiac arrest as the cause of death.
