LONDON, Jun 8, 2009 / FW/ — Third time is charm! Pringle of Scotland is the third British brand who is coming home to London for the BFC’s 25 year celebrations, which incidentally coincides with the brand’s 195th anniversary.

The British Fashion Council (BFC) confirmed that the iconoclastic British label will unveil its Spring 2010 collection during London Fashion Week. Historically showing in Milan, Pringle of Scotland’s decision to unveil its latest collection in London was driven by the label’s creative director Clare Waight Keller and new CEO Mary-Adair Macaire.

Clare Waight Keller, who originally studied for her MA in Fashion Knitwear at the Royal College of Art returns to London to show here for the first time since graduation. She will join other RCA alumni including Erdem, Julien Macdonald and Nathan Jenden.

Creative Director, Clare Waight Keller, comments “We are unbelievably excited about our move back to London, especially as this year our own anniversary coincides with the British Fashion Council’s 25th celebrations. It is a very exciting year for fashion in London and we’re proud to be returning to such a creative capital. As a British brand it is definitely an idea we’ve toyed with before, but this year provides the perfect opportunity to celebrate our British heritage and honour the BFC.”

Chairman of the British Fashion Council Harold Tillman, said “We are delighted that Pringle of Scotland are returning to London for our 25th year celebrations. It is fantastic to have a brand with such a strong British heritage showing alongside our emerging stars such as Giles, Christopher Kane, Marios Schwab and Richard Nicoll”.

London Fashion Week will take place from 18th – 22nd September at its new cultural home, Somerset House. The move to a more centrally located and iconic venue is part of the council’s 25 year celebrations.
