Christian Dior Haute Couture Fall 2009
Christian Dior Haute Couture Fall 2009

PARIS, Jul 7, 2009 / FW/– There is definitely a new spirit of couture that is coming out this season, the art of dressing down, or in John Galliano’s case for Christian Dior, the art of undressing as he proposed skirts that are so short, that the garter belt is showing (or is the skirt actually a garter belt?).

Sorry, your slips are showing… Ooopss… it’s actually part of the dress, i.e. layers and layers of chiffon that reaches until below the knee starting that started from mid-thigh, which by the way you cannot see because of the multitude layers of ‘slips.’

Even the gown was given a bustier top; no not the kind Madonna wears. Galliano designed the bustier circa the Charles Worth era.

It’s beautiful; it’s tender, even vampy sweet! The mad hatter quality that has defined Christian Dior haute couture collections for a long time was put on the shelf this season.

John Galliano dazzled us with his brilliance by following the ‘less is more’ mantra.
