Christophe Josse Haute Couture Fall 2009

PARIS, Jul 7, 2009 / FW/ — Every piece from Josse’s latest collection would no doubt make fabulous additions to any woman’s wardrobe. The separates and dresses were lovely, from the metallic green feathered skirt, to the lace minis with delectable ruffled sleeves, to the pleated chiffon gowns.

The taupe mini dress was a favorite, with draped cowl neck revealing black velvet underneath attached to a jewel-incrusted high collar.

However, the collection stayed a little too safe, lacking in innovation and excitement. It was simply an ensemble of pieces we’ve already seen in ready-to-wear lines, just with more embellishments.

I say this with the exception of the final white gown, a hauntingly beautiful gauze creation organically covered in soft floral appliques. While the pieces would make the every-day woman look like a knock-out, the collection failed to stand-out amongst the other shows in Paris.
