LONDON, Jul 21, 2009 / FW/ — In September 2009, for the Spring 2010 season, London Fashion Week will move to a new home at Somerset House. The result of several years of searching for a more centrally located venue for the event, this is a landmark achievement, which incidentally also marks a milestone as the British Fashion Council celebrates its 25th year.

The past 25 years has seen London earn its place as one of the four leading fashion capitals alongside New York, Milan and Paris. Known for cutting edge fashion and giving a platform for emerging designers to grow and develop, London Fashion Week continues to showcase exciting talent.

25 years ago ground-breaking designers included Paul Smith, Vivienne Westwood and Betty
Jackson; the 90s saw John Galliano, Alexander McQueen and Hussein Chalayan launch their careers; today London Fashion Week showcases iconic designers and brands as well as championing new stars such as Giles, Erdem, Christopher Kane, Marios Schwab and Louise Goldin.

And to celebrate this, British designers and labels are “coming home” for the Spring 2010 season. Burberry, Pringle of Scotland, Matthew Williamson and Jonathan Saunders had announced that they will be unveiling their collection in London.

In short, watch out for a very exciting London Fashion Week line up.
