NEW YORK, Aug 21, 2009 / FW/ — With the surprise appearance of actress Melissa George who is best known for her role as Sadie Harris in Grey’s Anatomy, Francisco Costa, Creative Director for Calvin Klein Collection womenswear celebrated the opening of the label’s new womenswear shop at Saks Fifth Avenue.
An invitation-only cocktail event, Francisco Costa was joined by his co-hosts for the evening – Alexa Chung, Elettra Weidemann, Jessica Joffe, Kathryn Neale, and Lauren Santo Domingo in welcoming their guests that included actress Melissa George, model Anne Vyalitsyna, and Zani Gugelmann, who were all wardrobed in Calvin Klein Collection.
The new women’s Calvin Klein Collection shop spans approximately 900 square feet, and is located in Designer Sportswear on the 2nd floor.
The sleek all white environment was designed to create an unobtrusive backdrop for the women’s runway looks, which will be displayed in custom ceiling suspensions.
The shop interior includes a range of shades and textures in white – including an all-white glass floor, mirror polished stainless steel rods, and a custom day bed from the Calvin Klein Home furniture offering.
Other notables in attendance included Jennifer Creel, Fabiola Beracasa, Alexis Bryan Morgan, Cindy Weber Cleary, Hal Rubenstein, Kristina O’Neill, Jamie Pallot, Yaz Hernandez, Sam Shaffer, as well as Robert Vignola, President, Calvin Klein Collection, and Saks Fifth Avenue’s Stephen Sadove, Ron Frasch, Joseph Boitano, Terron Schaefer, Suzanne Stemper Johnson, Linda DeFrances, and Colleen Sherin.
