Leanne Marshall Fall 2009

DALLAS, Aug 7, 2009 / FW/ — Showroom New York, the Big Apple’s fashion incubator just signed Project Runway Season 5 winner and Bluefly designer Leanne Marshall as one of its residents.

Showroom New York will be accepting limited orders for her fall 2009 collection from July 15 to August 15. As with the other designers in the showroom, all garments are manufactured and produced within New York City.

Marshall received a scholarship to the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in San Francisco where she received her formal fashion design training. After creating several independent collections upon graduation, Marshall was chosen to be one of the 10 contestants for the hit Bravo reality design show Project Runway.

She went on to become a finalist, and as a result showed her spring 2009 collection during fashion week in Bryant Park during January 2009, where she was then deemed the winner of the competition. As a result, Marshall was given $100,000 to start her own line.

Leanne Marshall’s fall 2009 collection is the first collection from the designer since the victory of Project Runway. This collection is now being housed at Showroom New York, a product of the GIDC in the garment district.
