NEW YORK, Aug 30, 2009 / FW/ — Two plus one equals three; renewing their partnership from last season, Nicholas K and Mara Hoffman decided to share the catwalk once more, with Whitney Eve (designed by Whitney Port) as the third designer to make up the triumvirate.

Slated on the opening day of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Thursday, Sep 10th at 2:00 PM at the Promenade, the three designers will unveil their Spring 2010 collections back-to-back.

Beginning with Nicholas K (showing women’s looks with a smaller selection of men’s looks), followed by Whitney Eve (showing women’s ready-to-wear) and Mara Hoffman (also showing women’s ready-to-wear), the designers will have their own set of models and their own backdrop.

This format provides an extra level of convenience for the press and buyers attending, as guests will all be able to see THREE shows in one sitting rather than traveling to 3 different locations, waiting in line and checking in for seat assignments – we all know that this can be a time consuming and frustrating process and we hope this will make the attendees’ day just a little bit easier.

“Having Mara Hoffman, Nicholas K and Whitney Eve share our Promenade venue for a group show makes such great sense for so many reasons. Not only will each of the designers save money but the editors/retailers will save precious time without needing to travel between three different places to see these three talents,” said Fern Mallis, SVP of IMG Fashion.

This year, Nicholas Kunz and her brother & business partner, Christopher Kunz, will be inducted as members of the prestigious Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). This season marks the second time Nicholas K will show with Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

Last season, the brand launched handbags & accessories, which have been extremely popular – and for their Spring 2010 show, they will be adding more styles and the line will include packable nylon jackets that turn into bags, as well as metallic wallets that triple as necklaces or clutches.

Their Spring 2010 collection was largely inspired by artistic movements from the 20th century, such as French Tachisme, abstract expressionism, and the unique approach to design inspired by Bauhaus.

Whitney Port, the star of the MTV hit shows “The City” and “The Hills”, is one starlet who’s left the drama in the hills, and has her eyes set on the fashion world. She left her comfortable bubble that was California, flip flops, friends and made the move to New York City to work for design maven, Diane Von Furstenberg.

Now, Whitney is ready for the world to see her newest endeavor, undoubtedly inspired by the bustling city life. Whitney Eve is a clothing line for the professional girl on the go, created and designed entirely by Whitney Port.

In March 2008, Whitney launched the line carrying pieces from cotton tees to cocktail dresses, to blazers and coats that can be mixed and matched for all occasions. The line is currently available at major retailers such as Nordstrom and Barneys and several high-end boutiques around the country including Scoop, Kitson, Planet Blue, Dash in Miami (owned by The Kardashians), and many more.

Following her successful swimwear show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim in Miami in July, Mara Hoffman will show at Bryant Park for the 4th time.

Hoffman’s line has been gaining a huge amount of momentum recently and her celebrity fan-base is rapidly expanding – recently the line has been worn by Megan Fox, Kelly Rutherford, Eva Longoria Parker, Rihanna and many more.
