NEW YORK, Sep 11, 2009 / FW/ — Ports 1961 all encompassed new trends for spring: draping, feminine pleating detail, and a flirty romper. This show revealed its inspiration in the first few pieces and music choice: Asian culture meets high city life.
The line was fresh and wearable with its array of draped bandeau dresses and duchesse coats. The careful selection of sheen and sheer fabrics produced an organic feel, fitting perfectly with the green movement in America.
The statement necklaces were made subtle with neutral colors, and accentuating the waist was innovated with clear belts. This presentation revealed femininity, simplicity, and quality. There was a fabulous contrast of movement pieces along with fitted sheath dresses and shells.
There was something for every girl in this collection. The cowl back dresses were fabulous for the bubbly woman full of personality, and the array of forties inspired dresses fit the classic yet fashionable lady.
