NEW YORK, Sep 16, 2009 / FW/ — Kit Willow presented a Spring/Summer collection for 2010 inspired by the Great Barrier Reef of Australia.
Black and ivory gave foundation to a classic color palate enhanced by gold and Ulysses blue of silks in cotton, stretch and crepe blends.
The collection utilized fine tailoring and handmade structured garments as well as free flowing wave like pieces.
High collars and exaggerated rounded shoulders were presented in various jackets and structured dresses that offered a ¾ finished sleeve length.
Foil infused embellishment gave an interesting textured approach to create the feeling that these garments were emerging from the ocean.
Deep neck blouses accompanied by cropped and full-length draped pants offered chic spring looks. Dresses were offered in digital prints of bias cut silk or solids of silk organza arranged in wave like layers.
Distinctly inspired, every piece artistically told a story of a journey to the great wonders of the Australian ocean.
