SAN FRANCISCO, Oct 21, 2009 / FW/ — What do you do when you have a talent for sewing and design when you’re 7 – 14 years old? Well, you join the Wee Scotty Project Junior Runway and compete with other design whiz kids like yourself.

On Sunday, October 25, 2009 at 6:00pm at DOGPATCH STUDIOS, 991 Tennessee Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, the third annual Wee Scotty Project Junior Runway competition is on, with this year’s special guest, Kate Pierson of the B-52s, who is also the competition’s muse!

The Junior designers, ages ages 7-14, were given one week to design and sew their creations with Kate Pierson as their inspiration. In addition to creating showcase garments, the competitors will model their own designs in the grand finale.

This year special guest Kate Pierson of the B-52s will join Simon Ungless, Director of Fashion at Academy of Art University, and musician Eoin Harrington in selecting an outstanding winner who will receive a free Husqvarna Viking sewing machine as well as the honor of Kate Pierson wearing a custom replica of the winning design.

Earlier this year, fashion students from the Academy of Art University worked with the junior designers to translate their design concepts into fashion illustrations, an important step in the development of their creations.
