PARIS, Oct 4, 2009 / FW/ — Debuting at Cacharel, new Artistic Director Cédric Charlier used white as a springboard opening with a simple white tunic / shirtdress. What followed was a series of delightful summer dresses and a pair of Capri pants thrown in done in different shades of white.

Cacharel Spring 2010

It was not until the middle of the show that Charlier started to put in color and he did it sparingly as he subtly incorporated what look like paint splatters or daubs of paint applied with a palette knife. In this artistic way, he referenced the house’s iconic floral prints without being cliché.
