Costume Dept Spring 2010LOS ANGELES, Oct 19, 2009 / FW/ — Staying true to its moniker, Costume Dept pays homage to 1990s Hollywood Boulevard and “Pretty Woman” on the pre-make over ‘Vivian Ward’, the character played by Julia Roberts.

Costume dept. translates the urban fairytale into body-hugging silhouettes in a street meets chic elegance with luxuriously considered details including over-sized silk organza bows, ruffles, gold buttons, and Swarovski crystals. The collection also includes body-con tops and bottoms with strategically placed cut-outs which themselves become graphic elements.

Leggings have an added panache this season with gold button details, cut-outs, and one pair of leggings with an attached peplum skirt.

Fabrics include solid and mesh Lycra mixes, an animal print, and stretch laces. There are also various sequin-accented fabrics in a floral, gold foil, fuchsia, and black.
