Karl’s Journey: the Art of Imagination
Karl’s Journey: the Art of Imagination

DALLAS, Oct 27, 2009 / FW/ — Following the success of his first book, VANITAS, INSHALLAH, designer AleXsandro Palombo, in 2010 is launching HUMOR CHIC, the second installment of “Chic et Simpleter” series.

Described by the author as “a daily society portrait blog, an illustrated point of view about fashion, costume, culture, society and celebrity” (the book is being previewed at Blogspot: www.humorchic.blogspot.com), HUMOR CHIC is also a fashion graphic novel, perhaps, the first of its kind.

A look at a few of the pages relates a day in the life of Karl Lagerfeld, told in just 7 frames. Entitled, “Karl’s Journey: the Art of Imagination”, Mr. Lagerfeld’s day begins with a UFO sighting by the Eiffel Tower and ends with Karl Lagerfeld walking the red carpet towards the UFO.

A tongue-in-cheek approach no matter how you look at it, AleXsandro Palombo’s wit with his pen and paint reaches out to his audience. In a world where YouTube and Hulu reign, a 7-part static illustration says at a glance what 5 minutes in YouTube would.
