PARIS, Oct 3, 2009 / FW/ — While we were searching for the silhouettes that will define the 2010s, it was staring at us all along; Alber Elbaz at Lanvin has been giving it to us season after season and though we were listening even looking, we did not realize until now how forward looking are his creations.

Lanvin Spring 2010

True, we always praise his collections; it’s like preaching to the choir because everyone just loves Alber Elbaz at Lanvin. And this season, the one-shoulder quilted mini, the A-line skirt and blouse with an oversized bow, the asymmetrical hemline on a double-breasted dress – these are clothes for women who are confident and self-assured.

Calling them strong women will be a misnomer because for some strange reason, when we say strong women, we think of glamazons. The Lanvin woman is the girl next door, though she is defies any cliché description.

She’s accomplished – she’s a lawyer, she’s a doctor, she’s a software guru… she can be a stay-at-home mom; she can even be the Homecoming queen. No matter what she does, no matter what set out to be, she has the right attitude.

And that is the woman that Alber Elbaz is dressing, and she’s a winner!
