PARIS, Oct 4, 2009 / —- Montblanc International is opening one of their grandest flagship boutiques in the world in heart of Paris’s Haute Joaillerie district. The two-story, 500 square meter flagship on Rue de la Paix, a short distance from the iconic Place Vendôme, reiterates Montblanc’s global retail presence.
Montblanc’s 7 Rue de la Paix boutique will be the largest in Europe and is one of fifteen “4810” international boutiques which offers exclusive collections, bespoke pieces, limited editions, precious and rare one-of-a-kind pieces – primarily in high jewelry, watch making and writing instruments.
This is the fourth location in Paris and will be the most prestigious retail space for the House in Europe, aligning itself with its other international flagship locations in Singapore, Geneva, Tokyo, Shanghai, and Beverly Hills.
The boutique will encompass all Montblanc product groups and showcase Montblanc’s longtime tradition of craftsmanship. This includes Horlogerie and Haute Horlogerie, Joaillerie and Haute Joaillerie, Writing Instruments including Limited Editions and finest Leather Goods. For the first time ever, the Montblanc Haute Joaillerie collection will be displayed under the same roof.
Upon entering the Boutique, visitors will be mesmerized by a ten-foot tall glass chandelier decorated with over 630,000 Swarovski crystals, a unique piece especially created for the boutique. This grandiose parlor leads the way to several product-specific areas, starting with areas dedicated to the timepieces manufactured in Le Locle and the bespoke timepieces handcrafted at the Institut Minerva de Recherche en Haute Horlogerie.
Guests are then offered the opportunity to preview Montblanc’s silver pieces and jewelry as well as writing instruments and leather goods. The final room will be dedicated to high jewelry in a space that has been designed to emulate a typical Parisian apartment. The one-of- a-kind pieces and other creations commissioned exclusively for the boutique will be displayed in this area while visitors are enticed by the charming garden view.
The top floor will host the intimate “Salons Privés” which have been designed to allow select customers to discover a jewelry atelier in privacy and perfectly demonstrate all the savoir-faire of the house of Montblanc.
Reflecting Montblanc’s ongoing commitment to arts & culture, the Paris Boutique will become a place of cultural exchange. To demonstrate the brand’s support of the arts, original artworks from Montblanc’s Cutting Edge Art Collection will be on display on a rotating basis.
In addition, each month Montblanc will encourage emerging artists from around the world by offering them the opportunity to showcase their talents and exhibit their contemporary works of art in the Boutique. The first initiative to be hosted by the boutique will be the winner of the Prix Montblanc Docks Art Fair (Contemporary Art Fair of Lyons, France), a prize supporting emerging national artists.
