MOSCOW, Oct 16, 2009 / — The premier fashion showcase in Moscow, Russian Fashion Week (RFW) Spring Summer/2010 season will take place in the Congress Hall of the World Trade Center from 17th through 23rd of October, 2009.
Being the biggest fashion event in Eastern Europe, RFW will feature 58 collections in 7 days by the best designers from Russia and ex-USSR countries along with fashion designers from the USA, Spain, Italy and Malaysia.
Top model and designer Erin Wasson (USA) showcases on Russian Fashion Week’s catwalk on the opening day, Saturday, October 17. Erin Wasson has graced the covers of countless magazines including French, German, Spanish and Australian Vogue, Flair, Numero, Allure, Esquire and Elle.
Uniquely versatile and notoriously hardworking, she has walked international runways for virtually every A-list designer, from Armani, Balenciaga, Cavalli and Chloe to Gucci, Lagerfeld and Lanvin. This season Wasson launched a womenswear collection – Erin Wasson x RVCA – in collaboration with surf and skate lifestyle brand RVCA. Erin Wasson is the face of Maybelline NY.
On October 22 RFW SS/10 will hold the Italian Day organized in collaboration with Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (CNMI). Italian lineup of RFW contains Costume National, Gattinoni and young designers selected by CNMI.
Mario Boselli, President of CNMI, says: “Milan Fashion Week has strategic relations with Russian Fashion Week in Moscow. We give the opportunity to show young Russian designers in Milan and RFW hosts Italian fashion shows. Such an exchange gives leverage to Russian-Italian fashion relations”.
The Russian Fashion Week schedule includes shows of the most famous and edgy Russian and former Soviet Union designers, among those: Arsenicum, Anastasia Z, Anna Direchina, BIRYUKOV, GS by Sabina Gorelik, Daina by Chistova & Endourova, Dasha Gauser, EVELYN, Fresh Art, Hayam Hanukaev, LENA KARNAUHOVA, M.Rimer, Masha Kravtsova, Narciss, KO by Sultanna Frantsuzova, O.K.M., POUSTOVIT, St. Bessarion, SV2, TEGIN, Vassa, Viva Vox, Egor Zaitsev, Elena Souproun, Lyudmila Norsoyan, Fashion House Bouton, PARFIONOVA, Masha Sharoeva, Olga Brovkina, Yulia Nikolaeva, Yulia Sarkisova and many others. One of the Russian most honored fashion designers, Slava Zaitsev, will open RFW with his fashion show on the 17th of October.
The high spot of the rich RFW party agenda is Alexandra Richards’ exclusive DJ-set at The Most private club which hosts RFW Closing Party this season, October 23. The famous top model and daughter of Rolling Stones’ Keith Richards arrives in Moscow especially for Russian Fashion Week’s main clubbing event. More than 2,000 guests are to attend The Most for the famous RFW Closing Party.
This season RFW presents the nation-wide project – Russian Fashion Museum backed up with Ministry of Culture of Russia. Russian Fashion Museum is the first of its kind in Russia and it is going to be launched in 2010.
The basic collection of the just created Russian Fashion Museum counts more that 30.000 pieces including costumes of XV-XX centuries, unique fabrics, fashion sketches, fashion photos etc. The inauguration of Russian Fashion Museum will be held on October 17.
President of RFW Alexander Shumsky says: “This is one of the most important steps for Russian fashion. Russian Fashion Museum emerged with Russian Fashion Week because RFW showcases the most talented designers of Russia. These designers will be surely featured in the Russian Fashion Museum soon”.
Russian Fashion Week is acknowledged as the #1 fashion event in Russia and all of the Eastern Europe, attracting over 50,000 guests seasonally, accrediting over 1,000 journalists and buyers from Russia and abroad and receiving massive media coverage in all the leading editions.
