PARIS, Oct 4, 2009 / FW/ — White for spring! What a novel concept, especially that since the mid 1990s, we had almost banished it from spring and summer in favor of black. Finally, there are a growing number of designers who are bringing it back and Sophia Kokosalaki is one of them.

Sophia Kokosalaki Spring 2010

Kokosalaki began with communion white clothes then immediately interspersed them with black, though white, albeit in different shades of it, dominated.

A very effective side effect of this choice is that the designer’s famed skill in draping and pleating shone through. If you’re asking if her well known love of her native Greece was seen, yes, it was there, subtle though it might be.
