LOS ANGELES, Nov 30, 2009 / FW/ — To Los Angeles-based clothier Alternative Apparel, being eco-friendly is not just a buzzword; its whole design philosophy is based on it!

That’s why they are launching the GLOBAL GREEN Think Earth Tee, to benefit Global Green, a non-profit organization primarily focused on stemming global climate change by creating green buildings and cities in the United States.

Founded in 1994 by activist and philanthropist Diane Meyer Simon, Global Green is the American Arm of Green Cross International (GCI), which was created by President Mikhail S. Gorbachev to foster a global value shift toward a sustainable and secure future by reconnecting humanity with the environment.

“We are also thrilled to announce our campaign to benefit national environmental nonprofit Global Green USA. As a symbol of our initiative for positive action and humanitarianism, we’ve even added a new Think Earth t-shirt to our collection, for which 100 percent of the net proceeds will benefit Global Green,” commented Greg Alterman, Alternative founder and designer.

At the same event that launched the Global Green Think Earth Tee, the limited edition Rethink Volume 2, a 56-page booklet printed using only FSC-certified paper, which includes articles, interviews and “green tips” from relevant celebrities, businesses, non-profits and individuals was also unveiled.

Contributors for ReThink volume 2 include actors Alicia Silverstone, Kelly Rutherford, Shenae Grimes, Zach Gilford, Robert Hoffman, Bree Turner, Nolan Funk and Chris Kattan, as well as Karina Smirnoff of Dancing With the Stars, eBay Creative Director and Style Expert Constance White, professional chef Nina Clemente, Max & Jason of Current TV, stylist Melissa Meister, Josie Maran, model and owner of green cosmetics company Josie Maran Cosmetics, NYU Professor Jesse Cameron-Glickenhaus, who teaches a course on global climate change, and more.

Each contributor involved represents an idea or perspective on the state of our planet and expresses it in their daily lives.
