Dirk Bikkembergs Fall 2009DALLAS & ANTWERP, Dec 3, 2009 / FW/ — Those who believe that a tuxedo and a bow tie are what makes formal dressing for me have not seen the Dirk Bikkembergs Sport Couture latest collection yet. The Belgian designer gives a new twist two elegant eveningwear for Fall 2009 / Winter 2010.

Proposing the traditional black, Dirk Bikkembergs also wants men to make an unexpected statement by opting for a clean white or vibrant red.

Call him Mr. Elegant! Taking a personal approach to formal eveningwear, Dirk Bikkembergs took the traditional black bow tie and transformed it into smart casual by adding a V-neck waistcoat with zipper along the back and replaced the formal jacket by a sharp leather with a hood and rib-knitted collar and cuffs.

Sleek shiny black pants are worn with white sneakers to make for a more casual look, whilst the black sunglasses add the finishing touch.

On the more formal side, the traditional suit and bow tie are given the Dirk Bikkembergs overhaul. The result comes in two colours: clean white and vibrant red.

The V-neck and crewneck waistcoats with the Mister imprint remain and add an extra dimension to the look. The cut is one to be worn with flair and confidence, whilst the shiny high-quality materials, including silk, add a luxury feel. The result is a strikingly playful approach to a most traditional look.

Looking like that, you don’t have to crash into the White House dinner party like Tareq and Michaele Salahi. The Obamas will invite you!
