NEW YORK, Dec 8, 2009 / FW /– Six emerging designers: Gina Desilva, Nadia Ivanova, Robin Tomas, Michael Venker, Herber Sanchez and design duo To-Tam Ton-Nu and To-Nya Ton-Nu, have been selected from a pool of over 50 as finalists for the Supima Design Competition and Runway Show this January.

The Open Call was held last October 21, 2009 at Bloomingdale’s New York wherein design hopefuls had to submit a sketch of the eveningwear entry, Design portofolio, CV, a garment that they have designed and sewn.


And now, the finalists are on their way for the second stage of the competition. They have received Supima fabric to begin sewing! The designs will be judged by the best of the best including Wall Street Journal contributor Teri Agins, New York Times editor Horacio Silva, Dean of Fashion at Parsons, Simon Collins and Bloomingdale’s buyer Chris Frye.
