Les Hommes Men Fall 2010MILAN, Jan 18, 2010 / FW/ — Continuing their penchant of using contrasting ideas in one collection, Les Hommes design duo, Tom Notte and Bart Vandebosch took inspiration from the post-apocalyptic world of Mad Max and the mystic Jedi knights of the Star Wars saga for Fall 2010.

Morphing the fluid lines of the Jedi knights costume with the nonchalant attitude of Thunderdome warriors, Les Hommes came up with an image of a modern warrior that is different from our traditional vision of military-inspired clothing.

Silhouettes are strong, even aggressive, but the violence inherent in Thunderdome is tempered by the fluid movement and peaceful stance of the Jedi knight. Thus, there is the rounded flap on a single-breasted-turned-double-breasted jacket.

Quilted leather shoulders are introduced as a variation for the jacket. Short coats and blousons often steal details from the bikers world; zips line pockets and collars, sometimes also scarves, leather or suede strings hang from pants and jackets, padded shoulders decorate T-shirts and turtle neck sweaters.

Pants are often wide and pleated on the front, with varying proportions and usually paired with military ankle boots for aggressive and strong looks.
