lacosteF1002NEW YORK, Feb 14, 2010 / FW/ — Perhaps, the yellow runway is a subliminal reminder of the yellow brick road, where Dorothy and friends traversed during their journey in the wonderful world of Oz.

Or, maybe it is just a coincidence; after all, being winter and all, we just need a bit of color and Christopher Lemaire, the Creative Director of Lacoste just hit it right on. We’re in the dead of winter here in the U.S. with 49 states covered with snow (the hold out is Hawaii).

So, Saturday, a very cold winter morning it was hard to get it up from bed to attend the Lacoste show, but Christopher Lemaire made it all worth it.

Sending color blocks clothes that are reminiscent of the 1980s; Lacoste is back to its sportive roots with the added twist of the 2000s sophistication.

Tights that had been turned to leggings and windbreakers with peplums; arm warmers make wearing golf tees a breeze and short-sleeves cape dresses the style de rigeur; Christopher Lemaire just made wintertime high energy dressing.
