invitation in processDALLAS, Feb 5, 2010 / FW/ — Emerging designer Manuel De la Cruz will present his collection (Fall-Winter 2010) during New York Fashion Week on Saturday February 13, 2010 at The Altman Building (135 West 18th Street New York, NY 10011) at 7:00 pm.

A native of Guatemala, Manuel De La Cruz left his home country to study fashion in Milan and Florence. After his experience in Italy, he moved New York and enrolled at Parsons. It was while he was a student there that he started to work under Angel Sanchez.

After graduation, he started freelancing, working for well-known fashion houses in New York – Narciso Rodriguez, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Sean John, DKNY, Tommy Hilfiger, Banana Republic and Gap, and many others.

In 2005, he felt he was ready to go solo, and started his own company with partner Brian Levy, launching is first solo collection the same year.

Always looking for ways to celebrate the human body, Manuel combines classic shapes with a modern twist to create a feminine straight-forward woman who lives a very busy social agenda and a masculine man who is not afraid to be sexy and exquisitely different.

For Fall 2010, Manuel De La Cruz concocts “Revelations”, where a dark palette transitions to a complete light color family using red, green, navy blue, and camel to contrast.

Using different blends of wool, silk and leather, De La Cruz will propose tailored suits and cocktail dresses and beautifuly embellished separates inspired by Mayan art. Accessories worked in collaboration with Dany Escobar present a new line of shoes, bracelets, necklaces and headpieces.
