MILAN, Mar 16, 2010 / FW/ — Created by Philippe Starck for Kartell in 2004, the “Mademoiselle” chair has is simultaneously retro and modern. Using bold, modern colors and streamlined shape, it brings verve to modern spaces.
About three years ago, the Mademoiselle Missoni was created. Featuring a frame made of transparent polycarbonate, and a seat made of polyurethane foam, it is upholstered in thick, soft, 100% cotton patterns designed by Rosita Missoni.
For the newly opened Maison Moschino hotel in Viale Monte Grappa, 12 in Milan, the Mademoiselle has been re-imagined to become “Wallpaper,” a chair covered in gold brocade fabric, a theme which is carried through in the “Wallpaper” room.
Additionally, “The Bow” is also a Mademoiselle chair that furnishes the name sake room; the space, like the chair, is decorated by colored bows.
Maison Moschino has created a fabulous and enchanted atmosphere with rooms that embody 16 different design concepts such as “Wallpaper”, “The Bow”, “Alice’s Room”, “Sleeping in a Ballgown” and “Little Red Riding Hood”. Each room has a dream-like ambience inspired by fairytales.
