sA74D3021PARIS, March 5, 2010/ FW/ — This season Manish Arora took his audience to Busby Berkeley land and proposed silhouettes inspired by the 1920’s and 1930’s.

A menagerie of bold color; tulip shaped skirts, oversized jodhpurs. (Anyone remember MC Hammer?)

Oversized jackets and deep v-necklines all constituted key looks for the collection. The very bold color palette included shades of Granny Smith apple green, purple, black with gold neon. Mechanical elements that look like watch parts and lace were some of the embellishments used with the very bold color palette.

Textiles included some perennial favorites: silk, silk satin, organza, silk taffeta and silk velvet. Manish Arora has collaborated with Swarovski crystal for several years now and this season that collaboration produced wonderful wigs in very bold colors made from these crystals.

Very fun and whimsical.
